Welcome to the online home of the Artist Series! We are a community-based nonprofit charity whose goal is to increase the depth, diversity and profile of Classical music audiences in Tallahassee and greater North Florida. The Artist Series provides programs supporting music outreach to underserved populations, active music performance, and public concerts featuring world-class chamber music ensembles and solo instrumentalists.
For our 20th season, we have hand-picked five world-class performers that will appeal to a broad range of audiences. Our ticket prices are affordable, and reflect the
Artist Series’ commitment to share the experience with as many people as possible. All concerts will take place in beautiful Opperman Music Hall on the FSU campus, which gives patrons a chance to see the performers up close and in a venue with wonderful acoustics.
Detailed information about each artist is available on the Purchase Tickets page.
The Artist Series has learned that pianist Gabriela Martinez will be unable to perform March 1, 2015, as part of the 2014-15 Concert Season. The Artist Series wishes Gabriela the best, and looks forward to seeing her in 2015-16.
After a thorough search, the Artist Series is excited to announce that Andrew Tyson, piano, will perform Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 4 p.m. in Opperman Music Hall. BBC Radio 3 hails Tyson as “a real poet of the piano.” A 2013 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient, Mr. Tyson has appeared as soloist with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Alice Tully Hall, the National Orchestra of Belgium under Marin Alsop, and the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie. Last season, Mr. Tyson gave his New York recital at Merkin Hall and his Washington, DC debut at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater. More info
